Key measures include a <strong>province-wide centralized self-exclusion system<\/strong>, enhanced age and identity verification, mandatory deposit, loss and play-time limits, continuous responsible gambling messaging, behavioural risk monitoring and stronger consumer protection safeguards. Oversight is shared between the <strong>Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC)<\/strong>, whose <strong>Chief Executive Officer <\/strong>is<strong> Kandice Machado<\/strong>, and the newly created <strong>Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC)<\/strong>, the provincial conduct-and-manage entity responsible for commercial agreements with licensed operators. The reform has been led by <strong>Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction<\/strong>, headed by <strong>Minister Dale Nally<\/strong>. The new framework is designed to channel that activity into the legal market while strengthening consumer protections. Under the model, <strong>80%<\/strong> of net gaming revenue will remain with licensed operators, <strong>20%<\/strong> will be retained by the province. Gray-market operators wishing to participate in the regulated market must discontinue their unregulated operations before launch.
