The tribe is seeking to block the opening of the project\u2019s <strong>Class III gaming<\/strong> operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"745\" height=\"475\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/lawsuit-threatens-us725-million-tribal-casinos-in-california2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18550\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/lawsuit-threatens-us725-million-tribal-casinos-in-california2.png 745w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/lawsuit-threatens-us725-million-tribal-casinos-in-california2-300x191.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 745px) 100vw, 745px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Elaine Fink<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The development will span approximately <strong>264,000 square feet<\/strong> and include <strong>2,400 slot machines<\/strong>, <strong>40 table games<\/strong>, eight food and beverage outlets and a future hotel phase with around <strong>200 rooms<\/strong>, while creating more than <strong>1,500 jobs<\/strong>. Total project financing stands at <strong>US$725 million<\/strong>. <strong>VICI Properties<\/strong> committed up to <strong>US$510 million<\/strong> in April 2025, while Red Rock and Station Casinos have operated under a management agreement signed on <strong>November 7, 2023<\/strong>. Red Rock Resorts is led by <strong>Frank J. Rival tribe Chukchansi is led by <strong>Deann Kamalani<\/strong>, who also has previous experience in the operation of Chukchansi Gold. The legal dispute centers on the <strong>Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988<\/strong>, federal approval of roughly <strong>305 acres<\/strong> of land and the validity of the state concurrence originally granted to the project. On <strong>December 16, 2025<\/strong>, the Fifth District Court of Appeal upheld the ruling, and on <strong>April 1, 2026<\/strong> the California Supreme Court declined to review the case. North Fork argues that the <strong>Secretarial Procedures<\/strong>, in force since <strong>July 29, 2016<\/strong>, continue to provide sufficient legal authority.
