Lawyers for the state of Texas had argued the games were illegal. <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">An agreement to dismiss the case was filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas in El Paso.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">Federal Judge Kathleen Cardone on Sept. 6 ordered lawyers for the Tiguas and the state of Texas to meet and determine if any issues remained to be resolved or whether the case should be dismissed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">Tuesday, lawyers for both sides filed a status report stating that after meeting four times in September, they determined &ldquo;the United States Supreme Court ruling resolved all claims in the case and there is no need for further (court) proceedings.&rdquo;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">The lawyers on the same day filed the agreement to dismiss the case.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">The Tribe will continue to offer entertainment, concerts, and gaming at Speaking Rock, and is excited to expand its services to better serve the Tribe&#39;s members and West Texas.&rdquo;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/assets\/international\/legal-battle-between-el-paso-tx-and-tigua-tribes-bingo-games-its-over2.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:x-large\">The Tribe is proud to have reached an agreement with the State of Texas to end the decades-long dispute over the Tribe&rsquo;s gaming activities,&rdquo; tribal officials said in a written statement issued by Brant Martin, the Fort Worth lawyer representing the tribe in the case.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">We are grateful that the Supreme Court has affirmed the Tribe&rsquo;s sovereignty under the (federal) Restoration Act, and the Tribe will continue to support its members and its community with confidence, secure in the knowledge earned by this legal outcome,&rdquo; the statement reads. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The lawyers on the same day filed the agreement to dismiss the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":4876,"menu_order":385,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[2043,2044],"class_list":{"0":"post-4875","1":"america","2":"type-america","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"tag-el-paso-tribal-bingo","8":"tag-tigua-tribe-bingo-texas","9":"entry"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.6 -
