The workers include hotel and casino housekeepers, cocktail and food servers, porters, bellhops, cooks and more. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:x-large\">The unions said they have had multiple rounds of negotiations with the top three Las Vegas hotel owners &mdash; MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Wynn Resorts &mdash; since contracts expired June 1, though some affected workers are employed by other hotels as well. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">Workers, unions, and the hotels are now operating under a contract extension,&nbsp;which requires either side to give seven days&rsquo; notice if they feel negotiations are unsuccessful and, in the unions&rsquo; case, if a strike may be necessary,&nbsp;according to a spokesperson for the Culinary Workers Union.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/assets\/international\/more-than-53000-las-vegas-hospitality-workers-will-vote-sept-26-on-whether-to-go-on-strike2.jpg\" style=\"width:100%\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\"><em>We are negotiating for the best contract ever in the Culinary Union&rsquo;s history to ensure that one job is enough,&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/em><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">Ted Pappageorge, the secretary-treasurer for the Culinary Workers Union, said in a statement. &ldquo;Companies are generating record profits and we demand that workers aren&rsquo;t left behind and have a fair share of that success.&rdquo;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">MGM MGM, -1.68% and Wynn WYNN, 0.07% last month reported quarterly financial results that beat analysts&rsquo; expectations, while Caesars CZR, -3.40% swung to a profit in the second quarter compared with a loss during the same quarter a year earlier.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family:Times New Roman,serif\"><span style=\"font-family:Arial,serif\"><span style=\"font-size:large\">Pappageorge said the union is concerned about issues including wages, benefits, workload reductions, technology protections, safety, the right to strike and bringing more workers back to work.
