(PLUS), an online gambling company that rose to become the most valuable gaming platform in the Philippines in less than three years. Its next big play is expanding into Brazil, but it has no plans of leaving success to chance, as it aims to secure a strong local partner for its first overseas venture, chair and business tycoon <strong>Eusebio Tanco<\/strong> said in a recent interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/landing\/multigame-link\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/ice-london-termino-y-se-despidio-la-feria-en-imagenes-mgl-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9725\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/ice-london-termino-y-se-despidio-la-feria-en-imagenes-mgl-1.png 1000w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/ice-london-termino-y-se-despidio-la-feria-en-imagenes-mgl-1-300x102.png 300w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/11\/ice-london-termino-y-se-despidio-la-feria-en-imagenes-mgl-1-768x261.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>It\u2019s better to have a local partner,\u201d said Tanco, adding that they will likely form a joint venture vehicle for the <\/em><em>expansion. <\/em><em>\u201cIt\u2019s not so much for funding. I think we have sufficient resources.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their preference, he explained, is for a strategic partner with gaming expertise in Brazil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No partner yet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe haven\u2019t identified a partner yet. The team is still on the search, looking at different companies there. We have an investment banker helping us. It&#8217;s a local Brazilian investment bank,\u201d said C<strong>eleste Jovenir<\/strong>, DigiPlus vice president for investor relations. DigiPlus is setting aside P660 million for its Brazil expansion, which is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Big opportunity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"453\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/why-gaming-giant-digiplus-is-eyeing-a-strategic-partner-for-its-move-to-brazil2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10282\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/why-gaming-giant-digiplus-is-eyeing-a-strategic-partner-for-its-move-to-brazil2.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/02\/why-gaming-giant-digiplus-is-eyeing-a-strategic-partner-for-its-move-to-brazil2-300x194.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for PLUS,\u201d said <strong>Alfred Benjamin R. Garcia<\/strong>, research head at AP Securities Inc. \u201cBrazil is a huge gaming market, and although the online sports betting space there is already crowded, there\u2019s still a lot of market share to be grabbed,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DigiPlus, which saw explosive earnings growth after diving into online gaming in early 2022, hit a record high of P30.45 per share.
