Total regulated gambling revenue remained broadly flat at around <strong>\u20ac1.62 billion<\/strong>, down 0.07%. The overall player base also contracted. <strong>528,706 unique people<\/strong> gambled online during 2025, compared with 602,288 a year earlier, a decline of <strong>12.2%<\/strong>. Online betting contributed <strong>\u20ac244.6 million, up 5.18%<\/strong>; betting shops generated \u20ac87.3 million, down 7%; and newsagents \u20ac35.45 million, down 5.08%. Player protection also tightened. The <strong>EPIS<\/strong> exclusion system ended 2025 with <strong>66,998 self-excluded people<\/strong>, received 16,358 new applications and blocked <strong>715,373 access attempts<\/strong>, including about 690,074 online.
