The main exceptions would be operators\u2019 own websites, licensed gambling premises and certain sports sponsorship arrangements. Signage at gambling venues would be limited to <strong>20% of the building facade<\/strong>, with a maximum of <strong>50 square metres<\/strong>, while at least <strong>10% of the permitted advertising area<\/strong> would have to carry addiction-risk warnings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"890\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18849\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown2.png 890w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown2-300x205.png 300w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown2-768x525.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 890px) 100vw, 890px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Boris Mihaylov<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reform would preserve sponsorships involving clubs, federations, leagues and sporting events, but would prohibit digital overlays added during broadcasts. It would also close commercial formats used during the 2026 FIFA World Cup to promote betting brands through partnership-style messaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biggest impact could fall on affiliates. Bulgaria introduced a dedicated affiliate licensing regime on <strong>August 1, 2026<\/strong>, but the current draft provides for those licences to terminate from <strong>January 1, 2027<\/strong> if the wording remains unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"892\" height=\"565\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown3.png 892w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown3-300x190.png 300w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/bulgaria-prepares-sweeping-gambling-advertising-crackdown3-768x486.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 892px) 100vw, 892px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Galab Donev<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The package would also require gaming machines and equipment in casinos and gaming halls to connect in <strong>real time<\/strong> to the <strong>National Revenue Agency<\/strong>, led by <strong>Executive Director Boris Mihaylov<\/strong>, to strengthen tax control and reduce underreporting. The <strong>Ministry of Finance<\/strong>, headed by <strong>Galab Donev<\/strong>, is also considering another increase in the online gambling levy, which already rose from <strong>20% to 25% of GGR in 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/mve-ads\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/05\/ADS-MVE.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16352\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/05\/ADS-MVE.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/05\/ADS-MVE-300x250.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foreign licensed operators would have to register and report in Bulgaria the financial activity generated locally, while the government is preparing additional measures on <strong>AML, tax evasion and responsible gambling<\/strong>.
