One legal distinction is essential: the SZTFH itself clarified that it <strong>never had the power to directly award concessions<\/strong>; that authority belongs to the competent minister. It is chaired by <strong>Dr. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Nagy<\/strong>, in office since <strong>May 4, 2024<\/strong>, while <strong>Dr. P\u00e9ter T\u00e9gl\u00e1sy<\/strong> serves as General Vice President. The Concessions Council had six members and was chaired by Nagy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"705\" height=\"482\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/10\/hungary-strips-sztfh-of-gambling-concession-powers3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18959\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/10\/hungary-strips-sztfh-of-gambling-concession-powers3.png 705w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/10\/hungary-strips-sztfh-of-gambling-concession-powers3-300x205.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 705px) 100vw, 705px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>M\u00e1rta G\u00f6r\u00f6g<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Government, led by Prime Minister <strong>P\u00e9ter Magyar<\/strong>, began an assessment on <strong>August 31<\/strong> to determine how the SZTFH\u2019s responsibilities could be redistributed among other state bodies. Justice Minister <strong>M\u00e1rta G\u00f6r\u00f6g<\/strong> was tasked with preparing the institutional review, while Transport and Investment Minister <strong>D\u00e1vid Vit\u00e9zy<\/strong> announced a review of casino concessions. The Sopron concession, linked to <strong>CAI Hungary Kft<\/strong> and businessman Istv\u00e1n Garancsi, runs until <strong>2061<\/strong>, according to published information. The reform does not automatically cancel existing licences and does not yet abolish the SZTFH.
