{"id":9664,"date":"2024-11-28T17:16:36","date_gmt":"2024-11-28T17:16:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/?post_type=europe&#038;p=9664"},"modified":"2024-11-28T17:16:37","modified_gmt":"2024-11-28T17:16:37","slug":"denmark-awaits-bingo-operators-deadline-until-december-5","status":"publish","type":"europe","link":"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/europe\/denmark-awaits-bingo-operators-deadline-until-december-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Denmark awaits bingo operators, deadline until December 5."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spillemyndigheden.dk\/nyheder\/landbaseret-bingo-spillemyndigheden-aabner-ansoegninger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Companies which apply for a licence<\/a> to offer land-based bingo in Denmark will be guaranteed authorisation from 1 January 2025 onwards, as long as their applications are filled in correctly and all relevant information is supplied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/assets\/feria24\/ice-london-termino-y-se-despidio-la-feria-en-imagenes-mgl.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Should Spillemyndigheden require additional information, the regulator can issue special permits with certain conditions while the remaining detail is submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To assist operations with applications, Spillemyndigheden will hold a meeting on 5 December to provide information on the new rules for offering land-based bingo in Denmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The requirements to offer land-based bingo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The licence to offer land-based bingo will last for up to five years at a time. There are, however, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spillemyndigheden.dk\/landbaseret-bingo#naar-i-har-faaet-en-tilladelse-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">number of requirements<\/a> for operators to adhere to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The applicant company must submit a form completed by all members of its executive board and board members, all stakeholders in a partnership and a representative appointed in Denmark if the business is not domiciled in a European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/europa\/denmark-setting-up-new-gambling-rules\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Denmark setting up new gambling rules<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Companies must also submit criminal records and debt declarations so Spillemyndigheden can assess there\u2019s no imminent danger of abuse. Companies can have no debt to the public sector if they wish to offer licensed land-based bingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/assets\/international\/denmark-awaits-bingo-operators-deadline-until-december-52.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a company has received a licence, should a member of the business be convicted of a criminal offence with a risk of imminent abuse of working in gambling, Spillemyndigheden can order the person in question to resign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each application will cost DKK20,000 (\u00a32,231\/\u20ac2,682\/$2,789), while renewal will cost DKK10,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once an operator has gained a licence, they must pay an annual fee. This will depend on their gross gaming income over a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fee rates are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Annual fee<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>&nbsp;Gross gambling income in 2024<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>DKK15,000<\/td><td>&nbsp;&lt;DKK1 million<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>DKK30,000<\/td><td>&nbsp;DKK1 million up to DKK2.5 million<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>DKK60,000<\/td><td>&nbsp;DKK2.5 million up to DKK5 million<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>DKK120,000<\/td><td>&nbsp;DKK5 million up to DKK10 million<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>DKK180,000<\/td><td>&nbsp;DKK10 million up to DKK20 million<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>DKK240,000<\/td><td>&nbsp;&gt;DKK20 million &nbsp;<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Denmark gambling revenue on the slide<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In November, <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbusiness.com\/gaming\/denmark-gambling-revenue-decline-september\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spillemyndigheden released data<\/a> showing gambling revenue in Denmark was 2.8% lower year-on-year in September, falling to DKK533 million. It was also 3.2% down on August\u2019s total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The overall decrease was despite online casino gaming, the primary source of revenue in Denmark, reaching DKK288 million in September. This is 12.1% up year-on-year.
