This institutional shift aims to enhance tax oversight and operational transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/colombian-gambling-news\/paraguay-promotes-bill-to-free-gambling-and-remove-legal-monopolies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paraguay promotes bill to \u201cfree gambling\u201d and \u201cremove legal monopolies\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oscar Oru\u00e9<\/strong>, head of the DNIT, expressed optimism about the upcoming regulatory decree expected in April. \u201cLiberalization will foster competition and increase state revenues,\u201d he affirmed. The commission also announced a <strong>comprehensive registry of authorized gambling machines<\/strong>, expected to be fully operational by mid-2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its latest update, Conajzar confirmed it will hold public hearings in May to evaluate new licensing proposals and receive feedback from stakeholders, including municipalities, operators, and civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To tackle illegal gambling, Oru\u00e9 emphasized that <strong>DNIT\u2019s intelligence unit will collaborate with Conajzar<\/strong> to detect and confiscate unlicensed slot machines. \u201cAny citizen can report irregularities directly to us, especially regarding unauthorized machines in local shops,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With Paraguay stepping into a new era of regulated, competitive gambling, both public revenue and consumer protections are expected to improve significantly.
