The proposal would make registration mandatory for any company that wants to import or trade <strong>M\u00e1quinas Electr\u00f3nicas Tragamonedas (METs)<\/strong> and other localized gaming elements into the Colombian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/mve-ads\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"727\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/impactful-accelerate-your-brand-with-mundovideo-ads.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14348\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/impactful-accelerate-your-brand-with-mundovideo-ads.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/impactful-accelerate-your-brand-with-mundovideo-ads-300x218.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/10\/impactful-accelerate-your-brand-with-mundovideo-ads-768x558.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/mve-ads\/?lang=en\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coljuegos frames the measure as a direct response to illegal gambling, estimating that more than <strong>104,000 unlicensed machines<\/strong> are operating in the country, with an associated loss of roughly <strong>COP 1.0 trillion<\/strong> in revenue for the health system. The draft notes that between 2018 and 2024, Colombia imported around <strong>31,500 METs<\/strong>, 45 per cent of them second-hand, highlighting the need for tighter control over the supply chain from customs clearance to the gaming floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the project, RIC registrations would be valid for four years and renewable, while importers would need prior authorisation from Coljuegos before bringing METs into the country. Within five business days of nationalisation, each shipment would have to be reported in detail: serial numbers, brand, model, year of manufacture, country of origin, high-resolution photos (front and ID plate), quantities and the intended operator or commercial buyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/11\/colombia-moves-to-tighten-slot-machine-imports-with-new-coljuegos-registry-plan3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14498\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/11\/colombia-moves-to-tighten-slot-machine-imports-with-new-coljuegos-registry-plan3.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/11\/colombia-moves-to-tighten-slot-machine-imports-with-new-coljuegos-registry-plan3-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resolution would also restrict who can acquire METs. Sales and transfers would be limited to licensed operators with an active concession contract, or to entities that prove a legitimate intent to operate games of chance and hold the relevant <strong>CIIU 9200<\/strong> activity code.
