The union reacted on <strong>September 21, 2026<\/strong> to efforts attributed to the <strong>Uruguayan Football Association (AUF)<\/strong> and <strong>CONMEBOL<\/strong> to ease the application of <strong>Decree 366\/017<\/strong> during the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/landing\/multigame-link\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/multigamelogo.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/landing\/multigame-link\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/multigame-diamod-III-700-eng.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9622\" style=\"width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/multigame-diamod-III-700-eng.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/multigame-diamod-III-700-eng-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/08\/multigame-diamod-III-700-eng-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2017, Uruguay has maintained a framework that prohibits the commercial promotion of unauthorized gambling. <strong>Law 19,535<\/strong>, through Article 245, enabled the blocking of websites, financial flows, advertising, commercial communications and sponsorship, while <strong>Decree 366\/017 of December 21, 2017<\/strong> implemented those restrictions. The <strong>National Directorate of Lotteries and Quinielas (DNLQ)<\/strong> had reported <strong>1,730 illegal gambling websites blocked as of July 29, 2026<\/strong>, and recognizes <strong>Supermatch<\/strong> as the only authorized online sports betting platform in Uruguay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"765\" height=\"517\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/uruguay-pushes-back-on-illegal-betting-ads-at-libertadores-final2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18826\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.479899497487437;width:840px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/uruguay-pushes-back-on-illegal-betting-ads-at-libertadores-final2.png 765w, https:\/\/www.mundovideo.com.co\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2026\/09\/uruguay-pushes-back-on-illegal-betting-ads-at-libertadores-final2-300x203.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 765px) 100vw, 765px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AFAL-COFE argues that the dispute goes beyond a one-off exemption and could affect Uruguay\u2019s regulatory model as online betting expands. It will be the second single-match Libertadores final staged in Uruguay, after the 2021 edition. The <strong>Libertadores Experience<\/strong> will also be held in Montevideo from <strong>November 25 to 27<\/strong>.
