Soon Peru can become the second Latin American country to regulate the activities of online betting and gambling through the Internet<\/strong>. In this country there is already a regulatory framework for traditional games of chance, that is, offline games of chance or localized games. All the forecasts point to the approval of the online gambling regulation law soon.<\/font><\/p>\n

It was only a few months ago, in November of last year, when a bill was presented in which a gambling license is required to be able to operate in the country within the law, as well as the payment of a monthly tax. The General Directorate of Casino and Machine Games will be the regulatory body in the country.<\/font><\/p>\n

Those pages of online gambling that do not have permission will be blocked<\/font><\/p>\n

At the time the law is approved, the Peruvian government will block illegal websites, which are those that do not have permission to operate legally.<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

Other countries in Latin America have also regulated online gambling. The first to do so was Colombia, where the regulatory body called COLJUEGOS was created in 2012, with the aim of managing and regulating the gambling sector, although not only online games but also offline. COLJUEGOS intervenes in games of all kinds, bingo, sports betting, casinos, national raffles, etc.<\/font><\/p>\n

Well, the most substantial difference between the regulation project that is being studied in Peru and the Colombian regulations, is that there will be two different types of licenses here: one for online games, which will include both casino games and machines and roulettes, among other games, and another for sports betting. Each of them will have its own tax burden. In contrast, in Colombia a single contract is granted through COLJUEGOS, which covers all games of chance through the Internet.<\/font><\/p>\n

Operators will not have to pay for their license in our country. In the Peruvian regulation, the operator will not pay any cost for the license, rather it will have the obligation to offer guarantees for an amount of 800 UIT for each license requested.<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

This money will have to be paid only once and will cover the operator the payment of prizes, fines and any other obligation contemplated in the contract. It should be noted that this amount can also be constituted through an insurance policy, a deposit or a bank deposit, in the same way as any type of guarantee.<\/font><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the operators of this country will have the obligation to pay a tax on a monthly basis, corresponding to 12% of gross income less prizes. The licenses, in addition to being renewable, will be valid for up to six years.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
