New Jersey has seen a year-on-year increase of 119,8% during March, according to figures from the Division of Gambling Enforcement. Revenue reached $359.3m, up from $163.5m in the same month last year, and poker was an important player for it.
The Poker sector contributed with $2.7m. Sports betting saw the highest growth, with revenue up 360.9% year-on-year at $60.8m following the cancelation of sports events last year. Gamblers spent approximately $859.6m on sports betting with retail sportsbooks taking $79.5m of that and online taking $780.1m in bets.
Revenue from online gambling reached $113.7m, up 75.4 per cent compared with March 2020 ($64.8m). The main contributor was online slots, which generated $111.0m.
