A regular at the festival, Piqué competed in the €20,000 and €25,000 NL Hold'em - Unlimited Re-Entry tournaments, finishing a creditable 9th place at the Final Table of the latter event, albeit without a cash.
This year's ESPT has once again demonstrated the strength of the partnership between PokerStars and Casino Barcelona, attracting thousands of players from over 80 nationalities. With 7,138 entries, this event becomes the second largest in PokerStars history, second only to the 2023 edition, which reached a record 7,398 entries.
The competition, which has already surpassed 8,000 entries in just four days, continues today with 1,066 players qualified, led by Andrew Chen with 1,077,000 points.
The ESPT will run until September 8, with the highly anticipated arrival of the €100,000 Super High Roller and the Main Event, which in 2022 saw 2,294 entries, setting a record on the European circuit.
American Byron Kaverman took victory in the €25,000 NL Hold'em - Unlimited Re-Entry tournament, for a prize of €381,060, while Marc Liz claimed the first Spanish spade of the EPT Barcelona 2024 by winning the 8-Game event, taking home a prize of €22,790.
