A Citrus Heights card room is at the center of a poker scandal

A Citrus Heights card room is at the center of a scandal that has rocked the competitive poker world and is now subject of a lawsuit brought by some of its players. Stones Gambling Hall has been named in a lawsuit, alleging that one of the stars of its livestreamed poker games has been cheating.

More than two dozen poker players brought the suit filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern California District Court last week against fellow poker player Michael Postle and Stones Gambling Hall, claiming that Postle and a person or people working inside the card room conspired to help Postle win at a rate that is, statistically, nearly impossible.

The casino has hired former federal prosecutor Michael Lipman to investigate the claims.

This case is premised, in large part, upon the understanding that such live poker streams can — and should — be carried out in a secure and intelligent fashion. And that Stones was grossly negligent in not even feigning compliance with prevailing industry norms and standards for such an operation.
