23erd Edition of Colombian Gambling fair

AT Expo, Gambling & Technology, the gambling fair in Colombia, celebrated its 2022 version in Cartagena de Indias, during the past March 15, 16 and 17 in the Convention Center of Cartagena de Indias, venue certified with the safety and health protocols Safe Guard by Bureau Veritas International.

The event addressed to suppliers and operators of the gambling industry had close to one thousand attendees, among which the presence of Antonio Lara, together with other representatives of the Mexican Association of Betting and Gambling Licensees, AIEJA, and the Dominican Association of Casinos headed by David Moniz, stands out.

During the first day, as usual, it was educational, with panels and seminars on national regulation and even international speakers who shared their experience facing challenges mainly aimed at economic reactivation, tax rates and their impact on the sustainability of the sector.

On the second day of the fair, the International Business Roundtable was held, with the participation of delegates from Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Colombia, who had the opportunity to discuss and analyze the current regulations, and the prospects for new regulations in their countries and in the region.

And eSports competitions captured the attention of visitors, with live tournaments throughout the fair.

The trade show, which brought together businessmen from 25 countries, was dominated by casino machines during two days of the fair, but the attendance was not the usual, as the number of visitors was quite reduced, leaving a somewhat empty fair and, as expected, there were no large investments in stands by exhibitors, due to the reality of the industry with the moment in which it is going through. Where the focus of the operators is to keep their operation afloat, accompanied by uncertainty as a country due to the upcoming presidential elections.

The public could know, from first hand, the growth and technological developments of manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of equipment for physical casinos, as well as the multiple options of digital transformation achieved by online gambling platforms.
