In a significant move to crack down on illegal gambling operations in commercial establishments, Coljuegos and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce have signed an agreement aimed at preventing unauthorized gaming activities in the Colombian capital and surrounding municipalities.

“This is an interinstitutional effort to promote legality and strengthen local economies. We want the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce to become an ally in fostering a regulated gaming industry in the city,” stated Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos.
The "Pacts for Legality" initiative seeks to unite public and private entities to raise awareness about the importance of legal and responsible gambling. Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of formalization and regulatory compliance in increasing transparency and generating revenue for public health and social welfare.

The pact also aims to protect gaming revenues allocated to Colombia’s subsidized healthcare system and local health funds. It will focus on three key pillars: fighting corruption, reducing barriers for informal operators, and promoting digital transformation in the industry.
Additionally, the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce has expressed interest in collaborating with Fedecámaras to expand this initiative to other regions of Colombia.
