Published date: 2026-10-19

United States, October 18, 2026. Missouri's 13 land-based casinos generated approximately US$1.5256 billion in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) between January and September 2026, according to reports from the Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC). The industry closed September with US$165.07 million, representing 5.5% year-on-year growth, compared with US$156.51 million recorded in September 2025.

Slot machines contributed US$143.6 million, accounting for nearly 87% of monthly revenue, with growth of approximately 8%. Table games generated US$21.4 million, following a decline of around 7%. The casinos recorded 2.28 million admissions.

Ameristar Casino St. Charles, operated by Boyd Gaming, led September with US$25.67 million, followed by River City Casino, operated by PENN Entertainment, with US$21.78 million, and Hollywood Casino St. Louis, also operated by PENN, with US$21.58 million.

The remaining properties were Ameristar Kansas City (US$17 million), Harrah's Kansas City (US$14.75 million), Horseshoe St. Louis (US$14.42 million), Argosy Riverside (US$13.91 million), Bally's Kansas City (US$10.92 million), Isle of Capri Boonville (US$7.63 million), Century Cape Girardeau (US$5.32 million), Century Caruthersville (US$5.21 million), St. Jo Frontier (US$3.92 million), and Mark Twain (US$2.94 million).

These properties are operated by Boyd, PENN, Caesars Entertainment, Century Casinos, Bally's Corporation, and Affinity Interactive. The 21% tax on AGR, established under Section 313.822 of Missouri state law, generated US$34.67 million in September, in addition to US$4.57 million in admission fees. Education received US$31.2 million, while local jurisdictions collected US$3.47 million from the gaming tax.

The MGC is chaired by Jan M. Zimmerman, with Michael A. Leara serving as Executive Director, under the administration of Governor Mike Kehoe. Missouri also launched regulated sports betting on December 1, 2025, following the approval of Amendment 2 in November 2024, establishing a separate 10% tax on adjusted sports betting revenue.
