Nevada’s Casino set $1bn Revenue despite being closed in April

Nevada’s casinos topped $1bn in revenue for April. According to the Nevada Gambling Control Board (NGCB), Clark County casinos took $865.5m, the Strip posted $483.4m and downtown Las Vegas $76.2m.

 

Gambling venues were closed during April 2020, but, when compared to 2019’s figures, the number represents an increase of 11 per cent.

 

According to NGCB senior analyst Michael Lawton, the figures for downtown Las Vegas and Clark County were records The Reno area saw its highest house winnings since July 2018. With some Las Vegas casinos already allowed to operate a full capacity, the Nevada Gambling Control Board (NGCB) has announced another easing of Covid-19 countermeasures.

 

It will now be up to each operator to decide whether to enforce a facemask policy at its venues.

 

The NGCB added that it won’t require or forbid casinos to ask about guests’ vaccination status. The board has, however, urged operators to keep signs up with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance for vaccinated and unvaccinated guests anyway.
