The Tennessee Sports Wagering Council (SWC) is ramping up enforcement efforts, slapping $50,000 fines on five offshore sportsbooks for illegally targeting state residents. The crackdown totals $250,000 in penalties and signals Tennessee’s aggressive stance against unlicensed gambling platforms.
The operators fined include BetOnline, BetAnySports, Bookmaker.eu, Everygame, and JazzSports—all found accepting bets without authorization under the Tennessee Sports Gaming Act.
This isn’t Tennessee’s first rodeo. The state previously sanctioned Bovada in 2024, prompting its market exit. More recently, BUSR, BetUS, MyBookie, and Xbet faced penalties totaling $200,000. To date, the SWC has imposed over $600,000 in fines against offshore books.
SWC Executive Director Mary Beth Thomas issued a warning: “When consumers wager with illegal books, they’re not just risking their money—they’re handing over personal information to criminals.”
According to state law, penalties escalate quickly: $10,000 for a first offense, up to $25,000 per wager for repeat violations. The SWC is also cautioning Tennessee-based affiliates and partners not to engage with these unauthorized platforms or risk civil and criminal consequences.
