Macau-based casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd said that tickets for South Korean girl group Blackpink's two concerts were "sold out." The announcement was made via a social media post.
In January, Galaxy Entertainment said that its Galaxy Arena would host two Blackpink concerts, on May 20 and 21. Ticket prices ranged from MOP899 (US$111.20) to MOP3699, the latter for a VIP seat.
Galaxy Arena will host a concert by South Korean K-pop boy band Treasure on April 22.
The 16,000-seat multi-purpose Galaxy Arena, part of Phase 3 at the Galaxy Macau integrated resort, is scheduled to open in the second quarter of this year, Galaxy Entertainment management said last month. Blackpink is in the midst of their "Born Pink World Tour," which began in October 2022 and includes a leg in Southeast Asia.
Galaxy Entertainment said in December that nearly 97 percent of the MOP 28.4 billion (US$3.5 billion) it promised to spend to the Macao government under its new 10-year gaming concession, which began on January 1, it will go to companies not gaming deals and exploring overseas consumer markets.
