As much as 800 players are expected to be competing for a guaranteed prize pool of HKD20 million (US$2.58 million) in the main event, which the organizers say is “THE LARGEST GUARANTEED PRIZE POOL IN ASIA THUS FAR”. The Macau Billionaire Poker Event Co Ltd (MBP) will organize the MBP Summer Showdown in July and August this year, with the “Hope Cup” as the main event of the tournament.

The tournament (still subject to regulatory approval) will run from July 27 to August 8, with the main event scheduled for July 28 to August 3. Macau Billionaire Poker’s room will be hosting this month the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau 2017, which will run for nine days starting June 14.
