PAGCOR Pledges PHP300M to Modernize Philippine National Police Academy’s Training Facilities

Published date: 2025-03-18

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has committed PHP300 million ($5.23 million) in financial grants to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) to upgrade its facilities and provide advanced training resources for cadets. This investment aims to modernize law enforcement education and strengthen security capabilities in the country.

A significant portion of the funds will be allocated to the construction of a new PNPA Alumni Association building, serving as an administrative center and accommodation for visiting alumni. Additionally, part of the grant will enhance the Crime Scene Plaza, a crucial training ground for forensic investigation and crime scene analysis.

To ensure state-of-the-art police training, PAGCOR will also finance the procurement of firearms simulators, predictive crime analysis software, and cybercrime training tools. These enhancements align with global trends in law enforcement education, equipping cadets with cutting-edge investigative skills.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco emphasized the role of technology in crime prevention and highlighted the importance of providing modern training facilities for future law enforcers. As part of this initiative, PAGCOR has also donated PHP2.2 million to the PNPA Alumni Association for purchasing a new service vehicle and 100 learning tablets.

This move strengthens PAGCOR’s longstanding commitment to supporting the Philippine National Police (PNP). Since 2017, PAGCOR and licensed casino operators have contributed nearly PHP700 million to law enforcement projects, demonstrating their dedication to national security and police development.
