The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) reported a significant rise in the electronic gaming (e-Games) sector, highlighting its potential as a key contributor to the country's gaming industry in 2025.
As of December 31, 2024, PAGCOR recorded ₱63.01 billion in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) for e-Games, marking a dramatic increase compared to ₱20.43 billion in the same period of 2023.
E-Games in the Philippines include electronic versions of casino games, bingo, sports betting, and online poker, offered through both physical venues and online platforms regulated by PAGCOR.
The growth of the sector has been driven by widespread smartphone adoption, improved internet connectivity, and regulatory measures aimed at fostering expansion. PAGCOR’s policy adjustments, such as reduced licensing rates, have created a favorable environment for e-Games to thrive.
The Philippines' shift from offshore gaming operators to domestic electronic gaming has further fueled this growth. PAGCOR projects that e-Games could generate up to ₱78 billion in licensing fees by the end of 2025, solidifying their role in boosting national revenue.
The agency's focus on modernizing gaming infrastructure and ensuring regulatory compliance is expected to sustain this upward trajectory.
