Philippines-based PhilWeb Corp says it has received a letter from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor), the country’s gaming regulator, “allowing it to offer its services as an electronic gaming system service provider”.
Such services are to be provided initially to 16 Pagcor-licensed gaming sites for electronic games, but the start of operations is still “subject to inspection and testing [of the e-Games outlets] by Pagcor,”. PhilWeb confirmed in October that it had received a certificate of accreditation as an electronic gaming system provider from Pagcor, which put the company a step closer to resuming operations of its legacy e-Games parlors. Since the non-renewal of its former license, PhilWeb has seen a shake-up of its leadership, and has issued several filings mentioning proposals for a return to gaming sector operations.
