The Bolivian Gaming Authority (Autoridad de Fiscalización del Juego – AJ) continues its campaign against unauthorized gambling operations with successive raids in the city of Cochabamba. The most recent intervention occurred on May 17, 2025, in the Mayorazgo district, where officials dismantled an illegal gambling venue equipped with surveillance cameras and multiple escape exits.

During the operation, four gaming machines were seized, and two individuals were found actively gambling. The person responsible for the venue has been identified and was previously involved in similar unauthorized operations, according to AJ sources.

This latest action follows a prior raid in March in the Temporal area of the same city, where seven machines were confiscated and five individuals, most of them women, were caught participating in illegal gaming. In that instance, the site’s operator fled before authorities could apprehend him.

The AJ emphasized that these actions are part of its mission to enforce Law 060, which regulates all lottery and gambling activities in Bolivia. The law requires that all gaming operations be duly licensed by the AJ, and any unauthorized gambling is subject to legal penalties. To support these enforcement actions, the AJ encourages the public to report illegal gambling via its official website or through the AJ Móvil application.
These continued interventions signal the AJ’s commitment to upholding legal standards and maintaining transparency in Bolivia’s regulated gambling sector.
