Casinos in Medellin already have a reopening date

Yesterday, the metropolitan majors signed and presented the city's economic reactivation plan in the main even place in the city of Medellin.

Accompanied by all the mayors of the metropolitan area, Daniel Quintero, mayor of Medellin explained how the total reopening of the economy will be, thus becoming the first city in the country to achieve it, with the government's endorsement.

This after the city went back to yellow alert in ICU bed occupancy levels, it is the first city in Colombia to abandon the orange alert. In addition, the government reached an agreement with the city to expand 100 beds plus the health system to reach a total of 1000 to support this total reopening.

Thus, the plan has the following reopening dates:

- August 31 reopening of restaurants

- First week of September reopening of gyms

- Second week of September reopening of open-air theaters, motels, tourist sites (Arvi park, small town paisa, flying hill, among others) and the first event in the main square.

- Third week of September reopening of the entertainment industry, including casinos and gambling industry.

- Third week of November Nightclubs

- First week of December, first massive events in places like La Macarena.

According to Quintero, his masterful move was to reopen what was authorized by the national government as quickly as possible, to accelerate infections in a controlled way with the 4x3 strategy (4 days when economy is open, with 3 of lockdown). Even the city had the highest and fastest rise in cases in the country.

“This pandemic has not been easy for anyone; they have been the hardest months for everyone. When sales drop 5% for an entrepreneur that is a drama, now imagine when the business is completely closed due to an external cause.

The Aburra Valley is the 3rd most agglomerated valley in the world. Everything indicated that it was going to be a disaster, however, it was not. Medellin is one of the capital cities that has the lowest mortality rate. "Said Quintero

The mayor also called for this reactivation plan to be an even greater responsibility and citizens must continue to comply with self-care measures. He assures that there will not be so many disciplinary measures, but rather a confidence in compliance by the citizens to be able to guarantee it.

“This is the most ambitious reopening staging that is known not only in the country but in Latin America. Enough, enough we need a reopening "affirmed Quintero

Finally, he also assured that he will try to accelerate the reopening of other sectors such as casinos and gambling industry. Depending on the results of the metropolitan economic reopening plan unfold.
