Colombia’s gambling regulator Coljuegos has opened a public consultation on a draft resolution that would tighten the “reliability” regime for electronic gaming machines (MET) by explicitly linking compliance to the country’s online connection and monitoring system (SCLM+).
The proposal is framed as an add-on to Resolution 20211200034224 (Nov. 29, 2021) and would clarify that reliability is not only a matter of internal machine conditions, but also of effective online connection, plus the integrity, traceability, validation, and auditability of operational data transmitted to Coljuegos for inspection, supervision and the calculation of statutory gaming rights (public-health funding).
In practical terms, the draft would:
- Require operators to meet the SCLM+ technical requirements within the timelines set in Resolution 20245100027144 (Nov. 29, 2024), ensuring complete and verifiable transmission of play data.
- Strengthen inventory obligations by demanding updated, complete machine records (e.g., serial, classification, manufacturer, brand/model, year, country code, protocol, HD photos, and whether the unit supports TITO).
- Set an overall compliance horizon through Dec. 31, 2026, warning that omissions or inconsistencies may trigger administrative proceedings.
The consultation window runs Feb. 19 to Mar. 5, 2026, under Colombia’s administrative participation framework. For international suppliers and operators, this is a clear signal: Colombia is pushing toward data-grade regulatory control, not paper compliance—an inversión segura in predictability.
