The Prizes and Betting Secretariat (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance published another ordinance this Monday (27). The municipality announced Emerson Luiz Gazzoli for the role of Betting Authorization Coordinator, of the General Betting Authorization Coordination of the Authorization Subsecretariat.
The text, signed by Secretary Regis Anderson Dudena, was published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU). Furthermore, the ordinance is already in force. Last week, the SPA issued some regulations to advance the process of regulating the sports betting and online gaming market in Brazil.
The first licenses should be announced in 2024. In other words, companies that are operating in Brazil without due authorization next year will be subject to sanctions.
It is worth noting that Gazzoli has a degree in Economic Sciences from the State University of Campinas. He is currently Federal Auditor of Finance and Control. He also has experience in the field of Economics, with an emphasis on Growth, Fluctuations and Economic Planning.
