Coljuegos closed the first half of the year with growth again, and it seems that the pandemic somehow had a positive impact on the industry.
This is a behavior that has been replicated in various parts of the world; in fact, Las Vegas has had several months of consecutive record revenues in recent months. Even with the recession being discussed in North America today, many casinos general managers continue to have a positive view of the industry.
Thus, during this first semester, $349,405 million pesos (79.410.592 USD) were transferred, which means an increase of 104%, compared to the same period of 2021, when 171,415 million pesos (38.958.132 USD) were transferred.
And casinos contributed 42% of the total of this value.
Only in the month of January, the sector in general grew 22% with respect to the previous month. Of the total transferred between January and June 2022, $62,565 million pesos (14.219.383 USD) were transferred to the Local Health Funds in the municipalities; $6,932 million pesos (1.575.461 USD) to the Departmental Health Funds in the departments; $224,650 million pesos (51.057.052 USD) to the General Social Security System Resources Administrator (ADRES); $34,332 million pesos (7.802.762 USD) to the National Pension Fund of the Territorial Entities (FONPET) and $20,924 million pesos (4.755.476 USD)to the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly Colciencias).
On the other hand, in its commitment to fight illegality, Coljuegos from November 1 to June 30, 2022, carried out 188 control actions to establishments that operated gambling elements in an illegal manner, removing 1441 elements of gambling and ordering the blocking of 1577 websites that operated illegally.
