From 1 January 2025, new regulations in Belgium will allow sports sponsorship of betting brands only under specific conditions, the country's Gaming Commission has announced.

Betting brands will only be allowed to appear on the clothing of players aged 21 or over, and will be limited to a maximum area of 75 cm² in a position other than on the front of the garment.

This type of sponsorship will be permitted until 31 December 2027. The use of the brand or logo of betting companies in the name of sports associations or events, as well as their presence in the venues where sports are played (including spaces such as the edges of fields, official websites and sports teams), will no longer be permitted.
