The Commission for Attention to the People of Albacete, has reported favorably on the declaration of three districts of the capital as saturated gambling areas, a proposal that will be submitted to the Plenary for approval; This has been detailed by the councilor responsible for the area, Juani García.
In the municipality there are currently 24 authorized gaming venues in operation, according to data from the General Directorate of Taxes and Gambling Regulation of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations, as of April 3, 2023, therefore the average density in the municipality it is 14 establishments per 100,000 inhabitants.
To make this decision, the Information Commission has taken into account the technical report on Drug Dependencies, according to which, on January 30, 2022, Law 5/2021, of July 23, on the Administrative and Fiscal Regime of Gambling in Castilla-La Mancha which, in its fourth additional provision, grants municipalities the possibility of limiting the concentration of betting establishments, being able to declare an area of its municipal area saturated with gambling establishments, in what refers to the granting of their enabling titles, understanding by area, for the purposes of this Law, each of the neighborhoods, districts or any other group of public roads established by the municipality, the City Council has reported in a press release.
