Casinos Carnaval®, a Colombian casino chain, has opened a new chapter in the southwest of the country. Its flagship property in Unicentro Pasto – a shopping mall in the city of Pasto, near the border with Ecuador – has become the first venue in the region to install MultigameLINK®. Since the machines were switched on, on 26 November, they have quickly become one of the main talking points among local players. For now, they are the only MultigameLINK® machines in the entire city, and they are already changing the dynamics of the casino floor.
Players were the first to notice the difference. As soon as the machines went live, the comments started to spread on the floor: “We didn’t know these games before”, “They brought machines you don’t see anywhere else here”, “They have the classics we like and a lot of new titles – and those sun-style bonus coins pay really well”. The full setup – machines plus a dedicated sign made from three 43" HD screens – has turned into a natural meeting point on the floor, a visual and audio magnet that perfectly complements the Diamond® cabinets Carnaval was already operating.
From the operations side, the move was anything but accidental. The chain’s Director of Operations explains it like this:
“I was the one pushing for these machines and I insisted with management, because we already knew what Diamond® can do – they’re in a league of their own. Then Germán Cardona from Mundo Video® met with our entire team and showed them comparative figures and performance projections. After that, we decided to sell a group of old and non-productive machines — that lot was actually offered this week — and used that money to pay a 10% down payment. We financed the rest through MeFinancia®, which is cheaper than a bank loan. In these first eight days, MultigameLINK® has already covered the full monthly payment… and we still have 23 days of pure profit ahead of us.”
Within Pasto’s gaming market, Carnaval® is the only large, full-scale casino operation. The other five venues in the city are small or mid-sized rooms. In that context, having exclusive access to MultigameLINK® — on top of eight years operating the equally exclusive MultipokerSeries® poker machines in the city — creates a competitive edge that is hard to replicate. For now, no other operator in Pasto offers either MultigameLINK® or Diamond®.
