Wing hing’s Chinese lottery concession extended through 2026

Published date: 2025-12-22

Macau’s government has extended Wing Hing’s exclusive formal Chinese lottery concession for one year, keeping the operator in place through 31 December 2026, with the extension taking effect on 1 January 2026. The renewal continues the existing operating framework while adding a sharper policy signal: more local jobs, more training, and tighter alignment with labour priorities.

Under the new addendum, Wing Hing will pay an annual premium of MOP 500,000 (about US$62,000). The agreement also strengthens expectations around local hiring, requiring the company to work proactively with authorities on recruitment and to provide on-the-job training so local employees can build practical skills inside day-to-day operations.

The extension maintains a long-running structure for the Chinese lottery in Macau. Wing Hing first received the concession in 1990, and the product later expanded to telephone and online channels in 2004. Since 2010, the concession has been renewed on an annual basis, giving the government flexibility to adjust conditions without reopening the entire framework.

Recent figures illustrate why the administration is leaning into employment and sustainability. Wing Hing reported 2024 earnings of MOP 301.1 million, a 0.3% year-on-year dip. For the first three quarters of 2025, Chinese lottery gross gaming revenue was reported at MOP 10 million, while betting turnover fell 9.3% to MOP 39 million.
