Singapore strengthens its gaming hub with new licensing and regional connectivity

Published date: 2026-06-26

Singapore continues to reinforce its position as Asia's leading gaming regulatory and technology hub. In two strategic developments announced in June 2026, the city-state approved a new international gaming equipment manufacturer while strengthening its role as a gateway for regional gaming tourism through a new direct air connection to Phu Quoc, one of Vietnam's fastest-growing casino destinations. Together, these developments further cement Singapore's standing as a preferred market for gaming suppliers, operators, and investors across Asia.

The first announcement came from the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA), led by Hoong Wee Teck, which granted LT Smart (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Paradise Entertainment Ltd., Approved Manufacturer status effective June 25, 2026. The authorization allows the company to manufacture and supply gaming equipment under Singapore's stringent regulatory standards for Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs).

The approval strengthens the regional footprint of Paradise Entertainment, chaired by Jay Chun and owner of the LT Game brand. Headquartered in Hong Kong with a strong presence in Macau, the company opened a 20,000-square-foot production facility in April 2025 to manufacture electronic gaming tables and slot machines for international markets.

Sun PhuQuoc Airways, the airline owned by Vietnam's Sun Group, announced the launch of daily direct flights between Phu Quoc and Singapore beginning July 25, 2026, followed by a new route to Bangkok starting August 8. According to Phu Quoc International Airport, the Singapore–Phu Quoc corridor handled nearly 98,000 passengers in 2025, while the first five months of 2026 had already recorded almost 66,000 travelers, equivalent to 68% of the previous year's total. The new air service strengthens international access to Corona Resort & Casino, one of the few Vietnamese casinos authorized to admit both foreign visitors and eligible Vietnamese citizens under the country's pilot gaming program.

Singapore's importance extends well beyond its geographic size. The country is home to two of the world's most successful integrated resorts; Marina Bay Sands, operated by Las Vegas Sands, and Resorts World Sentosa, owned by Genting Singapore.

Under the oversight of the Gambling Regulatory Authority, Singapore combines strict regulation, world-class technical standards, and exceptional international connectivity, making it the market whose approval manufacturers seek and the regional hub through which gaming destinations aim to attract investment, tourism, and long-term credibility across Asia.
