Two casino operators of Las Vegas have confirmed hundreds of positive COVID-19 tests for employees since reopening in June.
Las Vegas Sands has seen 399 positive cases at its Venetian and Palazzo resorts since reopening, with 424 overall (out of 42,637 tests). Wynn Resorts-operated Wynn Las Vegas, meanwhile, logged almost 500 positive COVID-19 cases and three deaths among employees since reopening.
Overall, more than 25% of people recently infected with COVID-19 in Clark County may have contracted or helped spread the virus at a hotel, motel or resort.
This is according to Nevada's COVID-19 Mitigation and Management Task Force, with deputy administrator Julia Peek saying 26% of all people infected over the past 30 days mentioned visiting a hotel, motel or resort.
