Casinos in the United States generated more revenue in July than in the entire previous quarter. Although July's revenue was down 23.9% year-on-year, it was the third consecutive month of dramatic improvements in revenue conditions for commercial gaming, as casinos generated $ 2.83 billion.
The total amount wagered rose 3.2% to $ 5.88 billion in the first seven months of this year. Thirty-two commercial casinos partially reopened during July, while 50 remained closed at the end of the month.
Sports betting revenue increased 18.9% in 2020 compared to the same period last year, while the total amount wagered increased 3.2% to US $ 5.99 billion. Much of this growth is due to the opening of nine new markets in the last 12 months.
