Foxwoods Resort Casino, one of North America's largest integrated casino resorts, has entered the Guinness World Records by awarding the largest single jackpot ever paid in a bingo game. During the 40th Anniversary Firecracker Bingo, held on 4 July 2026 in celebration of both the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 40th anniversary of Foxwoods' original bingo hall, player Aaron P. captured a US$440,000 jackpot, establishing a new world record for the Largest payout for a game of bingo (single bingo house).
The record-breaking event took place inside the High Stakes Bingo Hall at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, attracting more than 3,000 players competing for over US$1 million in total cash prizes, including US$40,000 in door prizes. The previous Guinness record belonged to Buzz Bingo in Cricklewood, London, where a player won £105,000 (approximately US$135,955) in March 2025, meaning Foxwoods more than tripled the previous benchmark.
The milestone carries symbolic importance for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, owner of Foxwoods. The property's history began on 5 July 1986, when the tribe opened the Mashantucket Pequot Bingo Hall, a venture that generated the financial foundation for what would become Foxwoods Resort Casino, officially inaugurated on 15 February 1992. Today, the resort is led by President and CEO Jason Guyot, while Rodney A. Butler serves as Chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. Both described the record as a tribute to the vision that transformed a single bingo hall into one of the world's largest tribal gaming destinations.
Foxwoods now operates six casinos under one resort, featuring more than 5,500 slot machines, over 250 table games, an internationally recognized poker room, a 30,000-square-foot High Stakes Bingo Hall with capacity for more than 2,200 players, 2,228 hotel rooms, the Tanger Outlets shopping center, luxury spas, theaters, fine dining, family entertainment and year-round gaming events.
While no new capital investment was announced alongside the record, the achievement reinforces Foxwoods' strategy of using large-scale gaming experiences to attract tourism and strengthen its leadership in the highly competitive northeastern U.S. casino market.
