Sportsbooks in Colorado have been banned from placing bets on events, players or games related to Russia and Belarus. The decision was taken by The Colorado Division of Gambling from Saturday
Some of the banned organizations include the Russian Ice Hockey Union, the Belarusian Ice Hockey Union and the Russian Football Union.
Some operators have already taken such action. FanDuel and DraftKings have also decided to not cover any Russian or Belarusian events while Caesars has confirmed it’s no longer offering Russian soccer, table tennis, volleyball, or hockey.
The gambling sector has also launched fundraising efforts to help those displaced by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Gaming Industry for Ukraine initiative on GoFundMe aims to raise £250,000 to donate to the charity Choose Love’s Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser.
