Jeju Dream Tower surges, leads South Korea casino growth

Published date: 2026-05-05

The Jeju Dream Tower Integrated Resort strengthened its leadership in South Korea after reporting record revenue in April 2026, driven by its casino operations. The complex, operated by Lotte Tour Development Co Ltd, posted approximately $46 million in total revenue, marking +38.9% year-on-year growth and +20.6% month-on-month, confirming a sustained expansion trend.

The main driver is its foreigner-only casino, which generated around $33 million, supported by higher visitor traffic and stronger table game performance. The hold rate reached approximately 22.6%, while table game revenue increased by more than +20%, reflecting both higher player volumes and increased spending per visitor.

CEO Ki-Byung Kim

The operator is led by CEO Ki-Byung Kim under the broader Lotte Tour Development Co., Ltd., with a strategy focused on attracting high-value international players. The resort integrates luxury hotel capacity, retail and entertainment, positioning itself as one of the largest integrated resorts in the country.

South Korea maintains a restrictive gaming model where casinos are open only to foreigners; except for Kangwon Land, making tourism the primary revenue driver. Within this framework, Jeju has emerged as a strategic hub, with international arrivals rising by approximately +29% year-on-year in 2026, boosting traffic to casinos and hospitality assets.

At the national level, the casino industry is structurally dependent on inbound tourism, particularly from China and Southeast Asia. Operators such as Paradise Co and Grand Korea Leisure compete in the segment, but Jeju Dream Tower is gaining market share through higher volumes and premium positioning.

More tourists drive higher casino traffic, which directly translates into revenue. With Asian tourism expected to expand further in 2026, Jeju Dream Tower stands as a key performance indicator for South Korea’s gaming sector, reinforcing a model where casinos are tightly integrated into the broader tourism economy.
