The Council of Bogota made an open council where citizens gave their opinion on the Territorial Planning Plan (POT due to its Spanish name) that is being processed and must be approved within 90 days.
The president of the POT council, Nelly Patricia Mosquera, said that 178 citizens were heard about this project, in 14 hours session, who presented several criticisms arguing that it is a structure that threatens the environmental sustainability of the capital.
In addition, another problematic issue was the bars, since the citizens who attended the meeting of the open town hall stated that these commerce sites affected their quality of life in an outrageous way at night.
Bogotá currently has more than 30 thousand registered bars in the chamber of commerce, of which there are less than 1300 located in permitted areas, which is why the POT stimulates new and much more demanding impact mitigation measures in noise, vibrations, agglomeration of people and garbage, from an investigation conducted by the mayor's office over the city instead of fighting with the closure of all the bars in Bogotá that affect residential areas.
In such a way that one of the strongest measures within the Management Plan is that there cannot be a bar when you have a residential area in front, on the sides or in the back.

This is a POT that seeks to strongly support the orange economy, an economic model introduced by President Iván Duque, in which the sector of games of chance and chance are benefited significantly. Even, according to the Colombian Association of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Acopi) it is an economic model of the Smart Specialization Strategy, which privileges commercial activities within the orange economy, and not the traditional sectors as it had always been done I even call it a Plan that "supports only the orange economy."
This new Territorial Planning Plan will continue to be discussed in extraordinary sessions which would take place between September 10 and October 31 of this year, according to Mayor Enrique Peñalosa.
