Coljuegos has a new president

The Ministry of Finance reported last week that Coljuegos will have a new president after 4 years and 8 months, in which the business administrator Juan B. Pérez, was as president of Coljuegos, appointed in this key position by Mauricio Cárdenas in the government of Juan Manuel Santos.

Pérez, leaves the presidency of Coljuegos with a recent growth balance of 76% during his more than four years at the leadership of Coljuegos.

In addition, in September 2020 it raised a total of $ 254,000 million Colombian pesos, the sector generated more than 100,000 formal jobs that occupy more than 20,000 commercial premises in which rent is paid and more than $ 1 billion in exploitation rights are contributed between national and territorial games , of which $ 668,000 colombian pesos corresponds to sales taxes.

The new designee to lead the entity is César Augusto Valencia (pictured), an administrator from the Universidad del Norte, with an MBA from Drexel University (Pennsylvania, United States). However, Valencia does not have any experience in the public sector as he has just concluded a long professional career at Smurfit Kappa Cartón de Colombia, where he recently graduated in 1977 as a packaging controller, until climbing in 2019 to vice president of the Central American Region. The Caribbean and Sacks.

Valencia , receives an industry strongly hit by the government's decisions in the face of a global pandemic, its challenge will be to support the industry in its reactivation to overcome the inflection points in which it was previously.

It is expected that his approach coming from a private sector will be much more corporate, where he has a greater understanding about the operator as an entrepreneur, going beyond his needs and fully understanding the operation of companies in times of crisis with the different possibilities of financing, liquidity, operability and the social impact around the jobs they generate.

A challenge for the new manager to maintain the activity of the sector, and provide new tools to the industry so that it continues to be the vital membrane for the health of Colombians.
