Colombian regulation enters into the responsible gaming mode, seeking to protect the player and allow him/her to live his/her experience with peace of mind. Thus, promoting a responsible gaming culture in Colombia has been a task promoted by Coljuegos and executed by the authorized operators; Responsible Gaming seeks to inform and educate on the adequate use of games of chance, prevent and protect the entire community from the negative consequences that excessive gaming can produce and promote its practice as a healthy leisure and entertainment activity, where prevention, self-care and support to those affected are the fundamental pillars of this regulation.
Coljuegos published the draft of a resolution which has the objective of establishing the minimum guidelines in matters of Responsible Gaming to carry out strategic actions in the gaming sector, in order to mitigate the negative impacts and effects generated by the inadequate use of gaming, which must be adopted by all gaming operators authorized by Coljuegos.
In this sense there will be two stages:
1. Implementation Stage: The operators will implement actions within their establishments, such as designing and implementing a written document, called "Manual of good practices in responsible gaming" which contains all the actions to be developed by the operator regarding responsible gaming, including an action plan to execute the responsible gaming program which must contain precise activities, objectives, indicators and periodicity and execution terms foreseen for each activity.
A copy of the manual must be sent to Coljuegos, with respect to which the entity reserves the right to make revisions and request adjustments through the New Business Management, which must be made by the operator within 30 calendar days following its receipt. Likewise, the manual must be published in the web page of each authorized operator and be available in the commercial establishments where games of chance of the localized modality operate.
2. Follow-up Stage: The operators must comply with the Responsible Gaming program, measure the results of the adopted actions and advance continuous improvement processes in this matter.
However, there will be different types of actions that must be included by the operators, among them are advertising and awareness campaigns both in the physical establishment and in their social networks or online presence, training for the work team, self-control actions such as self-diagnosis tests, physical self-exclusion forms, among others.
And support actions for those affected, which will include alliances with organizations specialized in responsible gambling, treatment centers and health professionals, for which operators will seek to maintain an active dialogue with the main stakeholders.
