Gambling industry increased 242% transfers to health in Colombia

During the first quarter of 2022, the regulatory entity registered record figures in exploitation rights of gambling industry.

 

As of March, 170,062 million pesos (42 885 980 USD) were collected from national games, which represents an increase of 17% more, compared to the same period of the previous year. Of this total, the localized games (casinos and bingos) have contributed 71,525 million pesos, the games operated by Internet, 50,045 million pesos; the Baloto Revancha, 17,703 million pesos (4 464 315 USD); SUPER astro, 29,707 million pesos (7 491 466 USD) and the promotional games, 1,008 million pesos.

 

Likewise, Coljuegos registers that for the first quarter of 2022 the gross sales of national games grew 54% more when compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 14.4 billion pesos, a figure that evidences an excellent beginning of the year and the good moment that games of chance are going through in Colombia.

 

The localized games report for the first quarter of 2022 sales for 8.7 billion pesos and the games operated by Internet, 5.4 billion pesos.

 

The latter are mainly driven by sports betting, virtual slot machines, live casino and virtual roulette. Likewise, the SUPER astro game recorded accumulated sales in the first quarter of 2022 for 152,973 million pesos (38 576 501 USD) and Baloto Revancha 52,657 million pesos (13 278 963 USD) in the same period.

 

 

Transfers to the health of Colombians for national games in this first quarter of the year totaled 266,990 million pesos (67 329 137 USD), a record figure for this first quarter, which represents an increase of 242% compared to the same period of the previous year and 4% more than budgeted for this period.

 

In the case of territorial games, such as lotteries, chance and Raspa y Listo, sales in the first quarter of 2022 reached 794,790 million pesos (200 428 950 USD), which represents a growth of 22.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.  It is worth noting that the game modality called Raspa y Listo, an incentive with immediate prize collection, was launched in November 2021 and has exceeded sales projections by 193%, thanks to the reception and acceptance in the regions.

 

Transfers to the health of Colombians by territorial games in the first three months of the year amounted to 115,142 million pesos (29 036 336 USD).
