We are not everything to everyone: the value of specialization in a regulated industry

Published date: 2026-07-29

By German Cardona
CEO / General Manager of Mundo Video®

After more than 36 years in this industry, I have learned something that may sound simple, but often defines the future of a company: real support cannot be built by trying to be everything to everyone.

At Mundo Video®, we have made a clear decision. We have chosen to specialize. We have chosen to focus on what we know, on what we can stand behind, and on what truly creates value for operators who invest with a long-term vision. That decision is not always the easiest one, but it is the most coherent.

The market for Electronic Gaming Machines in Colombia is changing. It increasingly requires traceability, documentation, technical clarity and greater corporate responsibility. That is why regulatory progress should not be seen merely as paperwork. It should be understood as part of a more serious path: organizing the company from within, strengthening processes and preparing for an industry where improvisation will have less and less room.

Our registration in the RIC and the inclusion of MultigameLINK® in Coljuegos’ MET listing are part of that path. But they are not the final destination. They are steps within a broader vision that includes our commitment to the corresponding homologation processes, the strengthening of our quality management system under the ISO 9001:2015 standard, and a way of working based on traceability, support and responsibility toward the customer.

For us, support cannot be reduced to a commercial phrase. Support means having a real company behind the product. It means spare parts, technical service, documentation, warranty, experience and the ability to respond. It means that the operator knows who they are dealing with and what they can expect after making a purchase.

It also means stating clearly who we are and who we are not.

We are not occasional importers.

We are not opportunistic sellers.

We are not a company trying to appear in every segment without depth.

We are a Colombian company that has spent decades understanding this business from the inside: from the gaming floor, from the customer, from the machine and from the operator’s daily reality.

That specialization is what allows us to move forward with greater awareness. We know the future of this sector will not belong to those who promise the loudest, but to those who can prove the most. Prove support. Prove permanence. Prove compliance. Prove that behind every product there is a structure capable of responding.

Internally, we have called this a Level Up. But beyond the name, it is a business decision: to raise the standard, improve every point of contact with the customer and build a company better prepared for the next stage of the market.

Good to Great is not about doing more things. It is about doing the right things better. And for Mundo Video®, the right thing today is to keep strengthening what truly sets us apart: experience, specialization, traceability, technical support and a real commitment to those who choose to invest well.

Trust is not imposed. It is earned.
And at Mundo Video®, we will continue working to deserve it.
