A new Las Vegas-based company invented a slot machine divider that cleans itself. This through the creation of SafePlay UV, an acrylic partition that adapts to any slot machine.
"We use UV light on a covered bar that cleans the surface of the partition every time a person gets up. So they have a clean area to play every time they get up from the machine. Absolutely no germs can grow on the surface of the partition and while cleaning it generates ozone, which also has health effects, "said Darryl Rosenblatt, Co-creator of SafePlay Uv.
According to Rosenblatt, Plexiglass barriers are unsanitary because with the heat coming from the machines, it would take an army of people running to clean them. These barriers are also being considered for use at tables.
According to the company, another product that uses UV light to disinfect board games is also in the works. While self-cleaning slot machine dividers are market ready.
"We believe that in the next 30 days we will see our primary deployment at the Las Vegas properties. Obviously, we are a Nevada company. Nevada is a priority," Rosenblatt said.
According to company spokespeople, a leasing program with local casinos is being worked on, but they did not specify which ones. However, it is clear that they want their design to be consistent with the harmony of the casino itself and not to interfere with the player experience, and 2.5 percent of the profits will go to the Clark County School District.
