Former NFL running back Anthony Hutchison, who once wore the jerseys of the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills, is now making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Currently on trial in Houston, Texas, Hutchison is facing fraud and bribery charges—and his alleged poker losses are staggering.

According to court testimony, Hutchison regularly played Pot Limit Omaha against pro poker player Ayaz Mahmood, a World Series of Poker bracelet winner. Mahmood described Hutchison as “losing 99% of the time”, and once dropping over $300,000 in a single session. He added that Hutchison was constantly “on tilt,” making reckless decisions to chase his losses.

But it doesn't stop at bad beats. Prosecutors allege that Hutchison falsified tax documents and bribed Houston Independent School District (HISD) employees to secure lucrative contracts through his companies, Southwest Wholesale and Just Construction. He also wrote $3.2 million in checks to a shell company, Bulldog Timber, believed to be a cover for poker debts.
From touchdowns to all-ins, Hutchison’s downfall underscores how quickly poor decisions off the field can snowball. The trial continues.
