Filipino billionaire Enrique Razon Jr., chairman of Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, is setting his sights firmly on the booming online gaming sector. Speaking to investors this week, Razon announced plans to launch a new digital gaming platform between late May and June 2025, marking a bold move to diversify Bloomberry’s portfolio beyond land-based operations.

The expansion leverages Bloomberry’s existing PIGO (Philippine Inland Gaming Operator) license, which allows casinos to legally offer online gaming to registered Filipino players. Through its subsidiary Solaire Online, Bloomberry is already operating live dealer games, online slots, and virtual sports betting — a foundation that Razon now plans to scale aggressively.

The timing coincides with the much-anticipated opening of Solaire Resort North, Bloomberry’s new flagship property in Quezon City, slated for mid-2025. Razon emphasized that digital operations will complement, not cannibalize, Bloomberry’s physical resorts, creating a "hybrid ecosystem" that captures both traditional and tech-savvy clientele.

The Philippine online gaming market, fueled by early regulatory moves during the pandemic, generated over PHP 3.9 billion (USD 70 million) in fiscal revenue last year. Industry analysts project continued double-digit growth, driven by smartphone penetration and evolving consumer behavior. With substantial investments across ports, energy, and gaming, Razon’s expansion strategy positions Bloomberry to dominate both the physical and digital gaming landscapes. "We are not waiting for trends — we are building them," Razon told stakeholders.
Bloomberry’s aggressive digital rollout underscores the broader transformation of the Philippine gaming market, where innovation and regulation increasingly walk hand in hand.
