Coljuegos admits that casinos continue to be the largest contributors to the gambling industry

The gambling sector has managed to come out ahead of the great crisis it went through due to the closing of its establishments for several days, and the application of biosafety norms that restricted the operation especially for casinos. However, the general balance for the industry was very positive and encouraging, since it registered sales for 36 billion pesos (9067521600 USD) as of October 2021, an increase of 119% compared to the same period of 2019.

Only casinos and bingos (localized games), invoiced 22 billion pesos (5.541.263.200 USD) up to the tenth month of 2021, a figure very close to the 24 billion pesos (6045014400 USD) recorded in 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Localized games are the ones that continue to generate a greater contribution, with an accumulated up to the tenth month of 195,142 million pesos (49154.34 USD) while Internet games rose in collection to 145,137 million pesos (36558.57 USD)," the president of Coljuegos stressed.

On the other hand, Online Games also advanced this year by registering sales for 12 billion pesos as of October, which means 8 billion pesos (2015004800 USD) more than in 2019.

The collection from exploitation rights of games of chance as of October was 558,000 million pesos, 92% more than in 2020, for clear reasons. Even, the collection goal was of 398,253 million pesos, which means that as of October 2021 Coljuegos managed to exceed the objective set by more than 40%.

As of October this year, Coljuegos has transferred 86,592 million pesos (21811.67 USD) to the departmental funds, 292,327 million pesos (73886.17 COP) to ADRES and 66,230 million pesos  (16682.68  USD) to Fonpet.
